SCCTM Mission

The South Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics acts to support quality mathematics teaching by advocating at the state level for South Carolina educators and students; providing opportunities for leadership, professional development, and networking; and encouraging the creation of research-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment. 


SCCTM Vision and Strategic Priorities

The South Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics is dedicated to the following:

  • improving and promoting research-based, high-quality mathematics teaching and learning in the state of South Carolina,

  • serving as an advocate for the profession and improvement of mathematics education,

  • providing professional learning opportunities that enhance and support learning at all levels,

  • providing scholarships and grants for those exhibiting leadership in mathematics education for K12 and beyond, and

  • communicating and collaborating with other like-minded organizations supporting the mathematics profession.
