The South Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics (SCCTM) respects your privacy. The following information details the use of information gathered at this website.
Information Collection and Use
In order to facilitate your participation in the activities of SCCTM we collect personal information that is stored in a secure database. This information includes, but is not limited to, your name, address, telephone number, email address, school affiliation and school address, primary educational responsibilities. We collect this information only when you volunteer it. Credit card information is used only for the transactions you indicate and is not permanently stored in SCCTM's database.
Membership
Using SCCTM's website you are able to join and renew your membership. You may also update personal information for the database. To complete online membership activities, you must use a credit card and provide additional information. To complete membership activities with payment by check, you may download the membership form to mail with payment to SCCTM's financial management service. You may also fax credit card information with the appropriate forms. A member number will be assigned to each person.
Conference Registrations
Registration for the annual Fall State Conference may be completed online using a credit card to make proper payments. The forms may also be downloaded for mailing with appropriate payments. Membership numbers will be used to verify current membership, SCCTM members may also renew their memberships when they register for conferences.
Voting
SCCTM provides for online voting by members for state and regional officers. All members in good standing may vote for state officers.
Email to Members
By giving SCCTM your email address, you grant SCCTM permission to contact you with messages from the Council about SCCTM events and other information of interest to your work. If you do not want to be contacted by email, do not give that information.
However, in order to pay online for SCCTM memberships and other services using a credit card, you must provide an email address for order notification and confirmation purposes.
CAN-SPAM Compliance
The SCCTM fully complies with The 2005 CAN-SPAM Act. If you later decide you do not want to be contacted by the SCCTM via email, please let us know by mail, phone or email correspondence.
Use of "Cookies"
The SCCTM website may use a browser feature called "cookies" to recognize you as a repeat visitor each time you visit our website. You always have the option to refuse cookies by turning them off through your web browser options. However, if you refuse cookies, you may not have access to all areas or features of the SCCTM website.
Membership, Conference and other Fees
Membership fees, annual conference costs, and other fees are determined by the SCCTM Executive Board and are stated on the web site and all appropriate forms.
Refund Policy
Requests for refunds for the Fall Conference registration must be made in writing two weeks prior to the opening of the conference.
Security
SCCTM's website has security measures to protect the loss, misuse, or alteration of information supplied by you and under our control. The Council has invested in technology that will help keep your transitions safe when you make credit card payments. We use Secure Socket Layering (SSL) to encrypt personal credit information before it travels over the Internet. SSL technology is the industry standard for secure online transactions.
Accuracy and Use of Information
SCCTM members are encouraged to download forms and information from the website for personal use. Permission is granted for reproduction of notices posted on the website and articles from the MathMate for classroom and workshop use with proper credit given. You may not copy, modify, reproduce, or sell any materials obtained from this website in a manner that infringes on copyright laws. Use of SCCTM's logo requires written permission.
